OHM Fitness: an app that controls a 20-electrode EMS suit

The suit connection is the product

OHM at Home is a remote control for 20 electrodes worn on the body, so the Bluetooth LE link is the core of the app. We wrote separate native apps for iOS and Android, because pairing and live intensity control have to behave correctly on each platform’s own Bluetooth stack. The same apps pair with both OHM wearables, the emPower Suit and PowerPants.

Intensity per muscle group, inside limits

While a program runs, the member raises or lowers stimulation zone by zone, across every major muscle group, in real time. Session limits and intensity guardrails are part of every workout, with guidance on screen as the session runs.

Four programs, one session format

Strength, Fat Burn, Cardio and Recovery all run as guided 25-minute sessions. The app records workout minutes and session output on its own, and members see their progress over time without typing anything in.

Memberships that connect studio and home

Before the app, OHM’s EMS training happened only in its studios. The membership logic now supports two paths: a studio member adds at-home access to an existing plan, or a new customer trains fully remote on an OHM at Home plan. The integrations cover App Store and Google Play distribution, subscriptions, Shopify and studio memberships.
